Donuts and Hoseki-uri

hoseki-uri (a type of melon)
We had donuts, hard boiled eggs, and hoseki-uri for breakfast this morning.  One donut I had was green tea flavor and the other was yuzu, a citrus fruit which is a cross between sour mandarin and Ichang papeda. It tasted kind of like mango mixed with orange but had the texture of an apple on the outside and a melon on the inside (next to where the pulp was).  It was quite good.  The donuts were also good.  Instead of being fried like most donuts, they had been baked.  They were like our "plain" donuts but with flavors and less cake-like.  The egg was delicious as well.  In the same way as the other eggs I've had here, it was less cooked than what I normally have.  In this case, it was better this way.  Instead of being hard and falling apart, the yolk was soft (but still solid) and actually tasted good.  I enjoyed today's breakfast very much.
