Hanabi!

Last night Yuki's friend came over and we lit many fireworks (hanabi).  There were a lot of sparklers and other hand-held varieties as well as some large boxes.  One even shot a firework really high and it exploded above the rooftops.  Fireworks are used in Japan during the summer and it is a very popular activity.  I told my host family about fireworks in America on Independence Day and sometimes big summer celebrations.
