Day 1 Lunch
For lunch today we had somen. It is traditionally eaten during the summer and served cold. There were the somen noodles served in a large bowl with cucumber slices and each person had their own individual bowl of Somen Tsuyu, a sauce to add flavor. The first bite seemed a little odd, but after that it was actually pretty good. There were also tomatoes with onion dressing. The dressing was good (it tasted like our Italian dressing at home), but I discovered that I do not like tomatoes. I tried though, and I ate a whole (cherry) tomato. The yellow tube off to the right in the picture is ginger. None of used it at lunch today, but maybe I'll try it at a different meal.
